REST API Development Services
REST APIs connect your frontend, mobile apps and third-party services to backend data and business logic. Based in Lahore, Pakistan, I design and build APIs with Laravel and PHP — covering authentication, database operations, payment gateways and external service integrations for clients worldwide.
Problems We Solve
Frontend with no backend
React or Vue app calling hardcoded data or mock endpoints. A proper REST API with consistent JSON responses, error handling and versioning gives your frontend real data to consume.
Insecure or missing authentication
APIs exposing data without token validation or role checks. JWT or Sanctum-based auth with middleware ensures only authorized users access protected endpoints.
Third-party integration gaps
Need to connect payment processors, domain registries, shipping APIs or CRM systems. Backend API layers abstract external services and handle webhooks, retries and error logging.
Inconsistent API responses
Endpoints returning different JSON shapes, missing pagination or unclear error codes. Standardized API resources with consistent status codes and documentation reduce frontend integration time.

REST or GraphQL — which do you build?
REST is the primary approach — widely supported, straightforward to cache and well-suited for most web and mobile applications. GraphQL can be discussed if your project has specific requirements for flexible data fetching.
How is API documentation delivered?
Postman collections with example requests and responses, plus endpoint descriptions covering authentication, parameters and error codes. OpenAPI/Swagger documentation can be added for larger projects.
Can you build an API for an existing database?
Yes. I map existing tables to Eloquent models and expose endpoints without altering your data. Schema changes are proposed separately if normalization or new fields are needed.
How do you handle API versioning?
URL prefix versioning (e.g. /api/v1/) is the default approach. Breaking changes go into a new version while the previous version remains available during a transition period.
